Model UHF 800 - Ultra-High Frequency Partial Discharge Measurement And Analysis System
On-site PD measurements specified by the IEC 60270 standard are often affected by noise in the surrounding environment. PD measurements performed in the Ultra-High Frequency (UHF) range of 100 to 2000 MHz present a reliable PD measurement alternative for detecting insulation defects. This is because numerous noise sources, such as mobile communications, radar signals, and corona discharges, predominantly transmit in lower or narrow frequency ranges. PD measurements performed in the UHF range therefore result in an optimal signal-to-noise ratio to ensure PD measurement sensitivity with little or no interference from external noise for defect detection and insulation condition assessment.
Synchronous, scalable system
The UHF 800 PD measurement and analysis system can be easily expanded by connecting several UHF 800 data acquisition channels for synchronous PD measurements. These units are connected via daisy chain with fiber optic cables to the MCU2 master control unit.
Flexible, time-saving software
The UHF 800 is used together with our MPD Suite software, which includes the latest, time-saving PD measurement and analysis functions, including recording and replay of PD measurements, an easily adjustable measurement frequency range, user-definable testing profiles and customized reporting.
Easy PD measurement connections
The UHF 800 ultra-high frequency partial discharge testing data acquisition device features two robust fiber-optic input channels, which allow safe and easy connections to the system’s MCU2 master control unit as well as to additional UHF 800 or MPD 800 data acquisition devices for multi-channel PD testing on gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), oil-filled transformers and HV cables.
Broad UHF measurement range
The UHF 800 measurement system ensures very sensitive PD measurements in the UHF range from 100 to 2000 MHz. Using the Spectrum Evaluation feature and adjustable measurement filters, users can easily select the best signal-to-noise ratio for sensitive PD measurements and reliable PD detection in the testing environment.
