Kliux Zebra - Vertical Axis Wind Turbine
It consists of a rotor, a tower and a generator. The rotor: maximum energy production, noise absence, birds friendly. The proprietary designed rotor is comprised of nine blades. Our “alfa” blade profile and the 9 blade rotor configuration is designed to allow maximum wind harnessing and to optimized wind aerodynamics performance. The aim is to simultaneously produce drag and lift effect in the rotor at different momentum stages of the rotating motion in order to obtain the maximum possible energy at different wind speeds.
Product Details
The rotor limits its turning speed from its aerodynamics configuration without the need of a mechanical brake. This reduces the machine’s risk of destruction due to strong winds and increases the lifetime of electricity production.
The rotor rotates at low revolutions (rpm); therefore, it expands the system life spam because of lower components fatigue due to a reduced vibrations while being completely quiet in normal turbine performance. The high visibility of the blades avoids birds’ accidents.
The generator: efficient and durable
The rotor’s movement is transferred to the Permanent Magnet Generator (PMG) through a high efficiency speed-increasing planetary gearbox. Both elements – the generator and the speed-increasing gearbox – are encased in a single steel module to protect them from weathering. This module is located between the rotor and the support.
The Axial Flux PMG is one of the most efficient electricity generation machines available today in the market. Its manipulation is simple and requires low or no maintenance at all. It provides three-phase voltage and its amplitude and frequency vary depending on the turning speed. Lastly, it has a low start-up torque that enables the rotor to start turning with very low wind speeds.
The support structure: resistance and aesthetics
The rotor and the transmission-generator group are supported by a tubular steel support with enough mechanical resistance to endure the strongest wind’s forces. It is fixed to the floor by concrete base and painted with special anti-corrosion marine paint.
