From Energy Services
OES have been involved in a number of projects involving the assessment of the design from an energy efficient perspective. A BER is an objective scale of comparison for the energy performance of a building ranging from A1 to G. It is rather like the A to G rating for a household electrical appliances like your fridge. A-rated homes are the most energy efficient and G the least efficient.
Since last year for new dwellings and January of this year for all existing properties placed on the market or let, it is necessary to obtain a BER certificate. OES are specially trained BER assessors, registered by Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI). In addition to carrying out the BER assessment OES will provide you with an assessment as to how the rating on your home can be improved. These would range from low cost measures such as increased attic insulation to more expensive options such as solar water heating.
Many home owners have difficulty in sifting through the wide array of companies offering alternative energy solutions such as ground source heat pumps, wood pellet boilers and solar water heaters. We can help you in deciding which, if any technology is suitable and most effective for your home.
