Be it mobility, living or the workplace: energy is indispensable. Energy ensures that our basic needs are met and is a prerequisite for a functioning economy. The shift from fossil fuels to a supply of sustainably generated energy is also one of the most important challenges of our time.

At the same time, energy technology is a major economic factor: in Germany, about 62,500 employees in the energy technology industry generated a turnover of about 13.4 billion euros in 2017.

The Bavarian Energy Technology Cluster intensifies the cooperation between business and academia in order to advance new technological developments and meet the challenges in the energy industry. Participation in the cluster activities opens up excellent opportunities for stakeholders to network regionally, nationally and internationally, to share knowledge across industries and to start joint projects.

Our offer

The Energy Technology Cluster regularly organises specific platforms for the transfer of knowledge and technology. Congresses, forums and cluster meetings provide information about new technological trends and developments, in industry and science as well as in the political context. In addition, the cluster plays an active part in national and international projects, manages working groups, coordinates joint projects with partners from industry and science and prepares specialist studies on current energy topics.

Due to the close cooperation with Bayern Innovativ GmbH and other networks and clusters, the Energy Technology Cluster has access to all relevant industries. This will enable its stakeholders and partners to network even better; for example, in order to present their findings and projects at trade fairs, specialised exhibitions and congresses.

An important task of the cluster is the transfer of knowledge: the portal "Energy Turnaround", which is continuously maintained, offers specialist articles by renowned authors and informs in a non-partisan way about energy production and supply and the respective technologies.

A separate portal  provides information about the progress of the project "Energy System Analysis".
