Iceland‘s largest facility of its kind, K&aa...
Iceland‘s largest facility of its kind, Kárahnjúkar stands high in the country‘s eastern highlands in some of the world‘s toughest conditions and harshest climates. Begun in 2002, the plant became fully operational in 2008, with an installed capacity of 650 MW and a generating capacity of some 4,600 GWh/year.
Projects such as Kárahnjúkar and many others have served to place EFLA at the forefront of hydropower construction technology, and placed the company among the world leaders in this highly specialised and complex field of engineering.
