Wood Pellets

Wood pellets are shavings and sawdust compressed at high pressure to give small pellets which are of a uniform nature. Due to the resulting dense material, they are highly calorific in nature and therefore need a more compact storage area compared to the same output of wood chips. Their uniformity produces consistency in boiler operation enabling automated systems similar to those offered by oil and gas boilers.

Containerized Bio Heat Cabin with Biomass Boiler

The Ashwell Containerised Bio Heat Cabin offers a complete cost effective biomass boiler house and fuel store solution ready to “plug in and go”. It offers an easy way of changing to renewable energy and lowering your carbon footprint. The Bio Heat Cabins are complete biomass boiler houses incorporating biomass boilers, pumps, pipe work, fuel stores and electrical connections. They can be incorporated easily within an existing heating system, used as a replacement system (sometimes even keeping the old boiler system as backup if required) or used as a supplementary/backup heating system.

Ashwell Biomass - Bio Heat Cabins

Ashwell Biomass - Combined Heat and Power (CHP) System

Produce Electricity & Generate Heat with a Biomass Boiler CHP solution. Ashwell Biomass along with leading Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) specialists Enogia to offer low maintenance, cost effective and proven biomass Combined Heat and Power (CHP) solutions. Already got a biomass boiler but want to explore CHP? A key benefit of the Ashwell/Enogia solution is that it is compatible with most existing biomass boiler systems enabling clients to transform waste heat in to electricity.

Biomass Fuels

Biomass is biological material derived from living organisms - in the context of biomass for energy this is used to mean plant based material, usually wood from forestry, processing wood or crops, sometimes specifically grown for energy applications. Generally, in the context of biomass boilers, the common fuels are wood chip, wood pellet and logs. Biomass fuel is considered ‘carbon neutral’ – it takes carbon out of the atmosphere while it is growing and returns it as it is burned. On a sustainable basis, biomass is harvested as part of a constantly replenished crop, maintaining a closed carbon cycle with no net change in atmospheric CO2 levels.

Ashwell - Heat Pumps

Heat pumps are known to be one of the most efficient forms of heating available. They offer high levels of comfort and advanced features that other appliances cannot. A heat pump only needs a heat source (ground, water or air) and a relatively small amount of energy to extract and distribute heat from its heat source. This energy can be utilised via a range of heat distributors including: radiators, underfloor heating and warm air convectors, providing an efficient and cost-effective heating solution.
