Enclosed Combustion Systems
MRW - Vapor Combustion Unit (VCU)
A vapor combustion unit (VCU), sometimes referred to as an enclosed flare, is an enclosed combustion device (ECD) used for the destruction of vapors from various services including bulk liquid storage tanks, barges, ships, rail cars and trucks. Please visit our enclosed combustor page for more details on enclosed combustion devices for oil & gas production facilities.
MRW - Enclosed Combustors System
With hundreds of units in operation across Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Louisiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and North Dakota MRW enclosed combustors, often called vapor combustors, are designed to destroy vapors from PRODUCED OIL or WATER TANKS. We have developed systems specifically engineered for the smokeless combustion of heavy (high BTU), low-pressure streams without the use of utility power. These combustors don`t require forced air for smokeless combustion at 100:1 or greater turndown and are built to Quad O standards. Vapors from multiple tanks can be controlled with a single VCU – with or without utility power.
MRW - Staged Ground Flare System
Staged ground flares are utilized for smokeless combustion of large volumes of waste gas flow with high turndown. They are commonly used in LNG and gas processing facilities. Due to the nature of these applications, staged ground flares are designed to handle streams over a wide pressure range and variety of compositions.
Open Flare Systems
MRW - Utility Flares System
Whether your application has low pressure or high pressure, combustible or non-combustible gas, small or large flow, MRW can offer a solution. Our systems have proven successful worldwide in industries ranging from: Gas Processing, Oil & Gas Production, Midstream, Chemical & Petrochemical, Landfill, Petroleum Refining, Biogas/Biofuels, Steel & Mining.
MRW - Non-Assist Smokeless Flare
Designed for vapors from PRODUCED OIL OR WATER TANKS as well as PRODUCED GAS, MRW Non-Assist Smokeless Flares don`t require forced air for smokeless combustion at infinite turndown. Vapors from multiple low-pressure tanks and high pressure sources can be controlled with a single open flame system. Built to meet 40 CFR 60.18 and operate with no visible emissions, MRW Smokeless Tank Battery Flares are Quad Oa compliant.
MRW - Steam-Assist Smokeless Flare
Some facilities have steam readily available and can use it to achieve smokeless combustion for their flaring needs. MRW’s time-tested and efficient steam-assisted flare tip technologies are operating successfully at petroleum refineries, chemical & petrochemical facilities, and agricultural processing plants worldwide. Our designs are proven through many years of research and meet all applicable EPA requirements.
MRW - Gas-Assist Smokeless Flare
Gas-assisted flares mix fuel gas with the waste gas for applications requiring smokeless operation. Our flare tips can be engineered to mix this fuel gas with both high and low-pressure waste gas streams. MRW can supply these gas-assist flares at petroleum refineries, chemical & petrochemical facilities, oil & gas production facilities, or others as desired. Our designs are proven through many years of research and successful operations and meet all applicable EPA requirements.
MRW - Staged Smokeless Flare
In order to utilize the same flare stack for different waste streams or streams with significant turndown, a staged flare may be the most economical option. MRW has proved itself a leader in solutions for these often-difficult applications. Our innovative flare tips and layouts allow for efficient and effective staging.
MRW - Pit Flare
Horizontal pit flares designed and built by MRW are often a more economical alternative to vertical flares of the same type (see utility, air-assist smokeless, steam-assist smokeless, or gas-assist smokeless flares). These flares provide easier access to the flare tip and pilots but require more real estate for safe operation.
