For the first four decades of its existence, the company designed and manufactured boilers for Polish utilities, industry and combined heat and power plants fully meeting the domestic demand for large coal and lignite-fired power boilers.

The company was privatized in 1993 RAFAKO S.A. and in 1994 it became a joint stock company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. As a result of the acquisition of the majority stake in the Company, since 2011 RAFAKO S.A. is a member of PBG Group. Company’s headquarters is located in Racibórz along with design and technology offices, five manufacturing workshops and management. RAFAKO also possesses the design offices in Gliwice and Belgrade, Electrostatic Precipitators Plant in Pszczyna and manufacturing workshops in Wyry.

RAFAKO S.A. offers the design and manufacture of a wide range of boilers fired with lignite, hard coal, fuel oil, gas or the combination of these fuels including the conventional boilers, boilers for supercritical parameters, fluidised bed and grate boilers. In addition, since several years the company delivers boilers for waste to energy plants, biomass-fired boilers and heat recovery steam generators. The offer in the boiler field is complemented by a variety of service services, from diagnostics through repairs, overhauls, supply of spare parts and comprehensive modernisation of boilers and auxiliary equipment. Within the field of environment protection the company designs, manufactures and implements on a turnkey basis the flue gas desulphurisation plants, plants for nitric oxides removal from flue gases and dust removal equipment.

RAFAKO S.A. has delivered boilers for almost all domestic utilities and hundreds of units for Polish industrial power generation. he company has references in a number of European and Asian countries, including China, Turkey, India, the countries of the former Yugoslavia, Germany, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Czech Republic and Scandinavia.

RAFAKO S.A. is a leading global manufacturer of boiler elements including membrane walls, drums, coils, rotary air and flue gas preheaters, air and flue gas ducts, steel structures and heat exchangers as well as other pressure equipment.

The company meets the requirements of ISO-9001, ISO-14001, ISO-45001, EMAS and the Pressure Equipment Directive of European Union. RAFAKO S.A. possesses the approvals and certificates according to recognised Polish and foreign regulations including UDT, ASME, TRD and others. In 2001, in recognition of the effective implementation and improvement of quality management principles, RAFAKO S.A. was awarded the Polish Quality Award. RAFAKO S.A. is one of the largest employers in the region currently employing around 1,000 people.
