How TPI’ system works
A modern approach to carbon dioxide purchase suggests that users can no more be dependent on gas manufacturer but has to install their own CO2-Production facility to get relevant economic benefits (cost saving from inhouse production) and strategic advantages (complete carbon dioxide availability without any logistic problem or shortage in times of most demand).
TPI developed its technology to produce CO2 from fuel combustion during its 30 years of experience in beverage industry; this knoledge has been exported in many other fields where TPI plants already operate providing food grade CO2.
The CO2 production plant is based on combustion of desulphurized fuel gas or liquid oil. The controlled combustion of fuel gas in the generator-reboiler produces a flue gas rich in CO2. The flue gas is delivered to the absorbing tower where CO2 is absorbed in a MEA solution. The solution rich in CO2 is pumped to the stripper where the heated solvent releases CO2.
