The hot water boiler VIGAS 12 DPA is designed for burning pellets with a diameter of 6 mm and a length of up to 40 mm and dry wood from sawdust to logs with a length of up to 370 mm and a maximum diameter of 20 cm. Sawdust, shavings, chips and offcuts must be burned together with logs. The insulation of the boiler consists of NOBASIL insulation material of thickness 20 and 40 mm. The flue gases are discharged through a steel throat with a diameter of 160 mm. The pellet hopper is made of sheet metal with a thickness of 1.5 mm and its volume is 225 l. The boiler includes a new front gearbox, an electric ignition spiral, a dosing tourniquet, a chimney temperature sensor and an ultrasonic pellet level sensor.

The internal space of the boiler consists of a filling chamber, which serves as a storage for wood and wood waste, where the fuel is dried and gasified. The generated wood gas then passes through the hot concrete nozzle into the combustion chamber, where it burns with the help of secondary air.

When burning pellets, they are accurately dosed from the reservoir directly into the combustion chamber of the boiler, where they are burned with the help of a regulated amount of air. The flue gases are intensively cooled in a double-row tube exchanger. Unburned waste is swept out of the combustion chamber. For heating, the boiler is equipped with a heating damper controlled by a rod in the front part of the boiler.

The boilers are equipped with a STB thermal fuse, which ensures the disconnection of the blower fan when the boiler overheats above 100°C and a cooling safety exchanger against boiler overheating according to STN EN 303/5:2012. The manufacturer recommends purchasing a Honeywell TS 131 3/4" relief valve for the cooling safety exchanger.

The boiler is equipped with a safety chamber feeder (turnstile) driven by a chain gear against back-ignition of the pellets in the hopper. In case of power failure energy or failure of the dosing device, there is always an air gap between the pellet hopper and the combustion chamber, which prevents the pellets from igniting in the hopper.

The boiler is equipped with a safety thermometer to prevent damage to the gearbox motor in the event of a screw or turnstile being blocked, which detects the temperature of the motor and ensures that the motor is switched off when it overheats to 80°C.
