At Electric Motor Service Limited`s Apparatus Service Division, we have two shop locations. We have the capability to repair AC Motors, DC Motors, and Generators up to 20,000HP. All repairs are carried out in house including machine work. We have lathes up to 48` swing, balancing up to 25 Ton, Babbitt bearing repair, mig or tig welding, and our rewind department uses a Samatic automatic-winding machine. After rewinds are complete they go into our 8` x 14` V.P.I. tank which uses 100% polyester resin for maximum penetration. After re-building is complete, all motors are tested on our laser aligned isolated test bed to check vibration, amperage, bearing temperature and various other tests. If required our test panel is rated at 2000kva up to 6900 Volts AC and up to 600 Volts 800 Amps DC. When needed we have the capability to load test motors up to 1000HP with our Eddy current Clutch dynamometers.
