INTEC - Natural Circulation Boiler & iNOOK
The INTEC natural circulation boiler iNook is a rapid steam generator that supplies production heat in closed water-steam circuits at high pressures - especially in the food industry. It is directly connected to the heat consumer. The heat transfer surfaces consist of vertical tubes which are welded together via ribs.
Thanks to large cross-sectional areas in the pipes, high circulation rates are achieved, which minimize the thermal load on the heating surfaces.
The exclusively vertical orientation of the heat exchanger tubes enables water to circulate in pure natural circulation, so that a feed water pump is not necessary.
Natural circulation boilers are used in Industry sectors where there is a constant demand for steam and the load is relatively stable. INTEC builds and supplies user-specific water tube boiler systems that are designed in different pressure and performance ranges.
How natural circulation boilers work
It is based on the principle of density differences between water and a water-steam mixture. Condensate from the consumer is introduced at the lowest point of the rapid steam generator.
As the condensate flows through the rapid steam generator, it is continuously evaporated in the pipes by the combustion. The density difference between the water-steam mixture and the condensate creates natural circulation (natural convection).
The generated water-steam mixture flows into an elevated collecting pipe (steam drum). From this collecting pipe, the condensate flows back into the natural circulation boiler, and the steam is supplied to the consumer.
Through heat transfer in the consumer, the steam condenses, and the condensate is then returned to the natural circulation boiler via a downpipe.
