Acciona - Wind Turbine
ACCIONA Energy is a world leader in the development, construction, operation and maintenance of wind farms, with more than 20 years’ experience in the sector.
Acciona - Photovoltaic Solar Plants
ACCIONA Energy has been a pioneer in the installation of large photovoltaic plants, with capacities higher than 1 MW. In 2001 it built a plant at Tudela (Navarra) that was the biggest PV facility in Spain at the time (1.2 MWp), equipped with an experimental area to test a number of technological solutions for later developments.
Acciona - Hydroelectric Power Technologies
Hydroelectric power has been one of ACCIONA Energy’s activities since the company’s early days. It was initially part of a process of modernization and valorization of small hydro plants, and later developed into the construction of new plants. We therefore have considerable experience in this technology, both in terms of evaluating the water resource and in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of plants. Following a major acquisition of hydroelectric assets from Endesa in 2009, we now own a total of 76 plants in a number of river basins in Spain, with an overall capacity of 876 MW (the consolidated figure is identical). This makes hydroelectric power our second biggest source of electricity generation after wind power.
Acciona - Concentrating Solar Power (CSP)
ACCIONA Energy became a pioneer in 2007 when it grid connected the Nevada Solar One, a 64 MW parabolic cylinder facility located in the Nevada Desert (USA). It became the first company in the world to set up a CSP plant after the projects carried out in California between 1985 and 1991, leading to the rebirth of this renewable technology.
Acciona - Biomass Technologies
In ACCIONA we are experts in the design, construction and operation of large biomass plants for the large-scale generation of electricity. We were pioneers in southern Europe when we grid connected a biomass plant at Sangüesa (Navarra, Spain) in 2002, a 30.2 MW facility that has been a benchmark in the sector ever since.
