Hydropowe System Design
The design stage is where Renewables First’s experience of constructing hydropower systems really starts to count. We know how to design things to simplify construction on-site, which leads to significant cost savings for you.
Hydropower Installation Services
One of the key strengths of Renewables First is that we don’t just do hydropower consenting and design, we install, commission and maintain hydropower systems as well. It is our all-round capability and expertise which has made us the UK leader. We use our own in-house project managers and installation engineers to manage the project from start to finish. We sub-contract the civil engineering works to local contractors, but oversee their work on-site to ensure everything is constructed in accordance with the design drawings. Most of the projects we work on are notifiable under the CDM Regulations, which we are fully familiar with as designers and contractors.Wind Services
Agriculture Wind Turbine Services
The government’s Feed-in Tariff (FiT) scheme was set-up in 2009 to increase the number of small-scale renewable energy generators throughout the country. If you have a suitable site, farm wind turbines can provide substantial amounts of energy to both reduce your electricity bill and in many cases produce a significant long-term income, without having any impact on your everyday farming activities. Renewables First provide all of the services needed to deliver a successful project, from feasibility study all of the way to installation and ongoing support.
Medium-wind Turbine Planning Services
Renewables First provides all of the services required to give your wind turbine planning application the best chance of success.Key to a successful wind planning application is early consultations, good communication with stakeholders and provision of high quality and accurate information. The planning stages are broken down into three distinct parts. The aim is to establish the facts quickly before expensive surveys and modelling work are completed to make sure ‘risk’ money is minimised.
Wind Power Installation Services
Taking a wind project from fully consented to fully installed requires multi-discipline engineering expertise, along with a working knowledge of heavy cranes and wind turbine installation logistics. Add project management capability and you have a Renewables First Wind Installation Engineer! The wind installation phase starts with the design work to produce the wind site layout. This requires a geotechnical survey to determine the ground conditions at the turbine location and an earthing survey to check the ground resistivity (required to design the electrical earth system). This information is then used to determine the location of the main items, such as the turbine centre, the wind turbine transformer and the high-voltage sub-station (if required). Once the locations of the main items are fixed the on-site electrical distribution can be designed and the cable trenches and routes specified.
