Soltec receives Reduzco Seal in its work to reduce polluting emissions
Its commitment to environmental protection and a rational and sustainable use of resources has allowed it to reduce the average emission intensity of its activity by 39.31%
Soltec, leading manufacturer and supplier of single-axis solar trackers, has obtained the REDUZCO Seal, awarded by the Spanish Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, in recognition of its commitment to the fight against climate change. The company has reduced by 39.31% the average emission intensity of the activities carried out at its facilities in Molina de Segura (Murcia, Spain) in the three-year period 2017-2019 with respect to the three-year period 2016-2018.
This quality seal highlights the important role of the companies in the protection of the environment, thus recognizing the action plan promoted by Soltec to reduce its carbon footprint in the generation of green, clean and renewable energy.
The main measures that the company has developed to address in depth its needs and obtain these results have been:
- The renewal of diesel machinery and cars by electric ones
- Substitution of propane-consuming production processes with other methods lacking in this fuel
- Reduction of productive processes consuming Stargon
- Promotion of awareness campaigns (saving water, light, air…)
- Extension of the life cycle, both in initiatives with local suppliers and in the collection of waste to reduce its transport
- Implementation of a 100% green electrical energy trading company.
Additionally, other environmental initiatives adopted by Soltec in recent years include the reduction of paper consumption, recycling and reuse of materials such as pallets, among others, and a drastic reduction of waste generated by each MW installed.
