Thailand Energy Awards 2018 - 3 awards for on-grid renewable energy LAWI power plants
For the 19th time, the Thailand Energy Awards were presented to 69 winners from 268 participants in five categories - renewable energy, energy conservation, energy personnel, energy innovation and energy supporter. We are proud to report that 3 out of 4 awards for on-grid renewable energy power plants went to facilities where LAWI Engineering participated.
1. Biomass Power Plant 9.9 MW LAWI EtaComb® 400 for TPC Power Holding Public Co., Ltd. (Chang Raek Biopower) in Tungsong.
Extracts from the jury's results: '... [The power plant] can deliver on average 74,930 MWh per year or more than 1,873 GWh during the entire project period of 25 years. This corresponds to a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 42,440 t CO2 per year.
The success of the power plant can serve as a blueprint for the development of other power plants in the southern provinces such as Satun, Phatthalung, Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat, etc., as these are good for the local economy. It helps to generate constant and sustainable energy for the whole country ... '
2. Biomass Power Plant 9.9 MW LAWI EtaComb® 600 for TPC Power Holding Public Co., Ltd. (Maewong Energy) in Nakhon Sawan.
Extracts from the jury's results: '... The electricity units sold to PEA amounted to around 64,000 MWh per year. This corresponds to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by more than 36,000 t per year of CO2.
Biomass can be extracted in the region by focusing on non-local biomass to reduce transport costs and provide stability in the raw materials, so that electricity can be generated consistently and continuously ... '
3. Biomass Power Plant 9.9 MW LAWI EtaComb® 400 for KPN Green Energy Solution Co., Ltd. in Phichit.
Extracts from the jury's verdict: '... In 2017, the project used more than 87,000 tons of rice hull fuel to produce 70 GWh of electricity using its own electricity in 1.4 GWh power plants and 68.6 GWh to PEA.
[The power plant] can expand the operating results in potential areas as biomass can be found throughout the region. Should focus on the use of local biomass to reduce the costs of procurement and construction ... '
