Continuous carbonisation technology solutions for industrial energy industry - Energy
Energy consumption is at the core of most industrial processes and is often a major operating cost. Conventional energy sources can be expensive. Pyrocal CCT systems can generate energy from a diverse and changing range of biomass and man-made materials.
Product Details
Examples of biomass and man-made materials include:
- Nutshells, fruit stones and husks
- Woody wastes, including pallets
- Cardboard and plastics
- Greenwastes
- Packaging wastes
- Manures and used animal bedding materials
- Municipal waste streams
Feedstocks for Pyrocal CCT systems sometimes have a negative cost, such as avoiding a costly disposal. In such cases the resulting energy can be far cheaper than from any other energy source.
Pyrocal CCT systems can produce heat at temperatures as high as 900 degrees C, for direct use or for the production of steam, hot water and hot air.
The byproduct of energy production in a Pyrocal CCT system is a carbonised product (biocarbon / biochar) rather than regulated waste such ash, digestate, sludge, oils, tars or wastewater. The value of this product depends on the nature of the feedstock. For example, fruit pits, nutshells, husks and clean woody feeds generate high value chars that can have application in fuel briquette production, as water treatment carbons, animal feed supplements or for many horticultural applications.
