Bestwood AB (publ) is a leading provider of cutting-edge applications for real-time quality measurement and optimisation. Operations began as a research group at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm in 1990 while Bestwood AB was founded in 1995. Among early applications were systems for real time quality assessment in the paper and pulp industri.
In the future, energy will be increasingly scarce in our world. A great challenge is to use solid fuels more efficiently and thus reduce energy waste. Therefore Bestwood began work on creating new technology using process analysis and optimisation techniques. During the last decade, focus has been turned towards analysis of solid fuels such as forest residue, household waste and coal. With support from the Swedish Energy Agency, Bestwood has developed systems that measure fuel properties and use the information for process control.
